Art 11

Abstract Expression was an American Post- World War 2 art movement it increased little by little."It was the first especially American movement to achieve worldwide influence and put New York City at the center of the western art world, a role formerly by Paris".  American movement was the first to be stablish and be recognize in New Yor city; what this sentence is trying to say is that basically it hitted the most important country that would help the movement, move even more around the world. Abstract Expression for me is also, referred to as Gestural Abstraction, because its brush stokes revealed the artist process. This process reflects and reveals the artists process and is also the subject of the art itself.

"One of them is Harold Rosenberg who explained the work of art becomes an event for this reason he dubbed this movement Action paintings in 1952. His emphasis on action today is view as control vs. chance. Abstract Expresionism can be divided into two tendencies which are Action Painting and Color Field Painting". what this quote is basically saying is that the individual that promoted the movement was Harold  Rosenberg in that year. Also hes painting were separated into two different views wich are "Action paiting" which is the movement the picture is portrating to the viewer and "Coloring Field" which is how the use of coloring dark or light are used.  This movement of Abstract Expressionism evolved through the work of each individual artist througth decades of hard work. Generally speaking, each artist arrived at this style by the end of the year wich was 1940s and continued in the same manner to the end of this or her life. This type of style has remained alive well know  into the current century though its youngest practitioners and thanks to them it will continue as time passes by.
